I’ve always been interested in history. The inventions that made us, the events that formed us, and the mysteries that still keep us wondering.

The pyramids are a prime example of these mysteries. You’ve always heard that the pyramids are huge, but if you haven’t seen them I promise they’re bigger than you can even imagine. Which begs the question, how? No one really knows, but yet we’ve been wondering for thousands of years.

Egypt was a place of interesting history. I went with a larger group tour (which I don’t normally do) in hopes of growing my photography skills. I didn’t have a set expectation on the things I’d see or do, I was simply just there. And in a way, I’m glad I had no expectations going in. I just wanted to stand in front of really cool things. And that I did.

Whether it be standing in the ancient tomb of Rameses lll, flying in a hot air balloon at sunrise over the Valley of Kings, or gazing up at the face of the Sphinx, a great photo opportunity was always around the corner.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when traveling to the ancient country of Egypt, but I don’t think anything can prepare you for the raw beauty in each city. The following set of images, I think, proves that point.
